On November 8th, with the support of the Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), National Energy Administration (NEA) and Shanghai Municipal Government (SMG), the Trade Development Bureau (TDB) of MOFCOM hosted the 8th China International Oil and Gas Trade Congress (CIOGTC) in Shanghai as an important subordinate activity of the second CIIE.

Mr. Ren Hongbin, the Assistant Minister of Commerce and Mr. Zhao Zhuping, Deputy Secretary General of Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, as well as principle leaders from domestic oil companies attended the opening ceremony and delivered their speeches. Mr. Wu Zhengping, the Director General of the Bureau of Foreign Trade Development of the Ministry of Commerce moderated the conference.

The 8th CIOGTC eyed on the international standard and promoted the innovation. With the theme of “Opening up and win-win to create a new cooperative situation for international oil & gas trade”, it became a place for the gathering of industry insiders to pulling their wisdom, exchanged ideas towards the new change of international oil and gas trade pattern, analyzed the new features for international oil and gas trade market, mastered the new trend of international oil and gas trade and prospected the new situation of a win-win cooperation in the international oil & gas trade.

We invited state-owned oil companies, futures exchange, famous private oil trading companies and international consultation institutions to co-organize 4 special supporting parallels so as to give a full play to the impact of this platform. Meanwhile, this Conference continued to be held together with the exhibition by setting up promotion pavilions to display the achievements made by oil and gas companies in expanding international trade and cooperation. In addition, in order to further enhance its effectiveness, the Conference encouraged attending companies to release updated achievements and reports through the Conference platform. Nearly 300 people from the most famous oil, trading and shipping companies, as well as representatives from financial institutions, information agencies and academia of 19 countries and regions participated.

As the first international summit on oil and gas trade held in domestic China, the Conference has attracted a total of more than 3000 representatives from oil and gas companies from China and over 30 countries and regions. Our CIOGTC has become platform for cooperation and interaction, as well as info updating and reports releasing for related oil & gas industry from home and abroad.
