Ma Zehua--President of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company (COSCO)

Introduction:

Mr. Ma Zehua was appointed as a Director of the Board, President and Deputy Secretary of Party Committee of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company ("COSCO Group") in August 2011. He was President of COSCO (UK) Ltd., General Manager of the Development Division and Assistant President of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, President of COSCO America Inc., Deputy General Manager of COSCO Guangzhou, General Manager of COSCO Qingdao, Executive Vice President of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company, Executive Vice President and Secretary of Party Committee of China Shipping (Group) Company. Being a senior international shipping expert, Mr. Ma has rich experiences in managing shipping companies both at home and abroad. 
Mr. Ma Zehua graduated from Shanghai Maritime University, majoring in ocean shipping and international law. He has a master's degree and the qualification of Senior Economist.

Summary:

The current status and outlook of oil transportation market. Since the financial crisis, the oil tanker industry has been gloomy due to imbalance between supply and demand, global economic slowdown, and geopolitical tensions. Ship-owners face many difficulties and challenges.   

Further deepen coordination and cooperation in the industrial chain. We need to deepen cooperation between ship-owners and cargo-owners to jointly create new value. Shipping companies need to pursue green development, protect the environment, and cut emission and energy consumption as much as they can，taking measures such as slow steaming. Oil suppliers should make full use of their technological edge to provide better, cleaner and more efficient fuel to shipping companies, and help the companies to maximize energy utilization, and minimize emission. Shipping companies will thus be able to provide more stable, convenient and affordable services to the customers with less cost.
